Revision

Reference

In revision, the aggrieved party moves the High Court for the exercise of its revisional jurisdiction, or the High Court may on its own motion examine the record.

In reference the case is referred to the High Court by a court subordinate to it.

The ground for revision relates to jurisdictional errors.

The ground for reference is the entertainment of reasonable doubt with regard to any question of law.

while revision after a case has been decided by the lower court which includes an order made in the course of a suit/proceeding.

Reference is made during the pendency of a suit, appeal, etc
