Distinction Between Revision and Writ are as follows :
- The revisional power under Sec. 115 of the Code is clearly in the nature of a power to issue a writ of certiorari. However, the power of revision is narrower than the writ power of the High Court under Art. 226 of the Constitution.
- The revisional power can be exercised only in the case of a jurisdictional error and not in the case of any other error.
- If the petitioner has already filed a revision in the High Court under Sec. 115 and has obtained an order, he cannot thereafter invoke the jurisdiction of the High Court under Art. 226.
